This 9.75x9.75 inch Grey Woodgrain Frame contains my original 6x6 oil-based colour pencil drawing, called “King Of The Castle". The frame is set up for wall mounting or table top display. This drawing also comes with a little story on a card: “Growing up, I frequently joined in a playground game called “King Of The Castle”, inspired by the old nursery rhyme (I’m sure you’re familiar with it!). The game was to race to the top of some high perch (an old tree stump at the top of a hill, for example), and the first one there became “King”. The objective was to then knock the person off the perch to take their place, by fair means or foul! Whoever remained there the longest was declared the winner, or “True King.” It involved a lot of rough and tumble, and I often came home covered head to toe in dirt, but grinning from ear to ear. In this drawing, I like to imagine the mice having such fun, playing this same game from my childhood!”
