About Me
Hi there, I'm Sarah Sheppard - nice to meet you!
I'm a self-taught wildlife artist, working solely in colour pencil. I gained a deep respect and appreciation for wildlife during the many family camping trips I took in my youth. Growing up, I expressed that appreciation by doodling animals in the backs of my school books (much to the chagrin of my teachers!), and on scrap paper during recess.
In 2021, after a decades-long hiatus, I picked up my pencils again and discovered a new love for colour. I experienced so much joy, I quit my job in legal services and invested in myself, creating The Wild-Eyed World. I participated in my first art shows in 2023, notably: Pelham Art Festival; Riverdale ArtWalk; and ArtWalk In The Square. I'm excited and honoured to add that I also won "Best in Drawing" when I returned to ArtWalk In The Square in 2024.
I look forward to sharing my passion and inspiring the next generation of animal enthusiasts, through my artwork!
